Life in Durango was scary this summer, you might of seen it on the news.  We are in a 4 year drought.  Which is very hard for a little ski town about to become the next Aspen (so they say).  One small error and we had a raging fire called the Missionary Ridge Fire.  Our town was filled with smoke, and every day we watched to see how many more homes were in trouble or burned.  Then an unrelated fire "The Valley Fire" took many homes without any notice.  We lost our water well from the drought, and had to dig twice to find enough water.  Businesses which all rely on tourism may never recover from their loses this last June.  Durango is recovering but the landscape will show evidence of our tragedy for at least 15 more years.  Everywhere you look you see dead trees eaten from a beetle.  We see it in our own yard at least 15 or more trees.

On the home front, our daughter Stevi is a freshman in High School.  She keeps things exciting and keeps me on my toes.  Did my parents worry this much?  I'm still working as a loan assistant at the bank.  Today is my last day of a two week vacation.  I stayed at home being taxi for Stevi and helping Jerry (my husband) with his business.  He is a framing contractor.  Also we are adding on to our home (new Great Rm).  Relax?  Not really.  But enjoyed every minute of it.
