Update:
Since I’ve had virtually no contact with anyone from our class since graduation, I guess there’s quite a bit to update. In June of 1971 I moved to Topeka where I attended school to become a court reporter. There I met my husband, Mike Krotz and we were married in 1973. Mike was in the Air Force, so after leaving Topeka we spent two years at Clark AB in the Philippine Islands (where our oldest daughter was born), four years at Grissom AB near Kokomo, IN (where our younger daughter was born) and 12 years at Offutt AFB in Omaha, NE. When Mike retired from the Air Force in 1989 we moved to Grand Forks, ND where he has worked with the University of North Dakota Aviation Department as Assistant Chief Pilot of the fixed-wing (airplane) program, Lecturer, and for the past 10 years Assistant Chief Pilot of the helicopter program. We hope to spend another 3-4 years here and then semi-retire to a beautiful little community we’ve found in the Ozarks.
I’ve worked most of the time we’ve been married . After deciding I really didn’t like being a court reporter (long before the student loans were paid off), I spent 15 years as a legal secretary (ugh); 5 years as a Project Administrator for a construction company (ugh); and 5 years self-employed as owner of a maternity and baby boutique (fun, but no money there). For the past 3 years I’ve been a realtor here in Grand Forks (which I love and has which been good to me).
We’ve gone through the normal trials everyone goes through - and for the most part have come through intact, sometimes victorious and always stronger for having survived. We are involved in our church; enjoy golf, fishing (well, he fishes – I take a book to read), motorcycling (him more than me, but I’m working on it), snowmobiling, vacationing – and of course (and most importantly) our family. All in all, God’s been good; we’re well and healthy, and we can’t complain. |
