Update:

Teresa and I both attended juco for 2 years after high school. We were married in the spring of 1974 and I went to work for the railroad in the fall of 1974 and at that time we moved to Emporia, Ks. We were moved by the railroad 4 times all between Kansas City, Chicago and finally back to Topeka, Ks. During this time we endured the usual trapping and ups and downs of life. But along with many blessings from God and the fortitude and strength we have from growing up in a small southern Kansas town we have survived and are stronger for what we have endured.

I left the railroad in 2000 after 25+ years. Not bad for a place I always said I never wanted to work. Since leaving there I have done a lot of things but have spent the last 3 years selling appliances for Nebraska Furniture Mart in Kansas City. I sell everything from low-end appliances to very high end which gives me the opportunity to meet a wide a variety of people, which I find to be very interesting. I will be there for at least another year when the railroad pension starts and who knows what we will do then.

Teresa has worked as a legal secretary for the same lawyer for the last 11 years. Her employer allows her a lot of flexibility and freedom which has always been nice as with me working all kinds of hours and many hours I never knew when I was coming and going and she could always be there for the girls.

We have 2 beautiful daughters Stacy our oldest lives in Kansas City Mo. And has 2 children a daughter age 10 and a son age 3. Our youngest Becky is a senior at KU and is still trying to decide what to do but she does keep us feeling young.

If we had known grandkids were so much fun we would have had them first.

We stay very busy with work and church activities and the grandkids. We are both involved in a ministry called Celebrate Recovery, helping others to change their lives. (www.celebraterecovery.com) God has truly blessed us and we try our best to give something back to him.

We have to offer congrats to Devon and Julea there is nothing better then a 71er married to a 71er. Good Luck to you.

We will be around AC Arkalahah weekend but will not be at the reunion. Hope to see some of you around town.
